Bean Cleaning

Exceeding established bean sorting standards. A significant part of such assortments is intended directly for consumption, which is why SmartSort meets the constantly growing requirements with its solutions, not accepting the slightest compromise in terms of efficiency or stability of the cleaning process.

Intelligent devices

Beans are one of the first products for which all updates of the EagleEye software, the basic software of SmartSort sorters, were introduced and therefore algorithms are developed to perfection for this material. Currently, thanks to the Eagle Eye Bionic 4.0 software, nothing more is required of the operator than to prepare material with a large number of defects, show it to the machine, and after a few hours, based on photos taken by the sorter, our engineer will provide you with a comprehensive program for batches of product with a highly variable degree of purity.

Full range of applications at full efficiency

  • SmartSort’s highest standards in bean cleaning are used by the largest processors of various bean species, but also include sorting lentils, broad beans, field beans, peas, lupins, and seeds of other legumes.
  • Various sizes of available pneumatic valves allow you to adjust the air stream throwing out contaminants to the size of a given assortment, always ensuring precision of ejection, regardless of whether you are sorting beans of the highest caliber or seeds of the smallest legumes such as lupins or field beans.
  • The highest resolution Cloud color cameras ensure the highest levels of cleanliness in the removal of all contaminants left after initial cleaning, such as halves, seeds of other species, discoloration, insect damage, disease discoloration and rot. If necessary, thanks to software that recognizes sizes and shapes, SmartSort sorters can also clean sticks and stems left behind.
  • Image analysis by the artificial intelligence model allows devices to eliminate the need to install additional infrared cameras, because currently available sorters see defects in a very similar way to the human eye. Thanks to this, defects such as limestone in white beans are easily distinguished even when their size is similar to that of a bean grain.

SmartSort optical sorters are available with up to 12 sorting channels, which can be freely configured for single cleaning, resort, multi-stage cleaning or sorting into different classes.

With maximized efficiency on individual lines, achieved thanks to solenoid valves with the highest intervention frequency, the throughputs of these devices is amongst the highest available on the market.
